Moscow Circus To Make First North American Tour in 10 Years
    NEW YORK (AP) - The Moscow Circus rolled out dancing bears and
jugglers to announce that it is scheduling its first North American
tour in 10 years.
    Company representatives, appearing at Radio City Music Hall on
Wednesday, said the famous Soviet circus will open in Toronto on Aug.
15 and end its 15-city tour in San Francisco on Jan. 1. The 200 shows
will include 44 performances at Radio City between Sept. 12 and Oct.
9.
    The circus acts expected include a dozen dancing bears, 17 acrobatic
tigers and a quadruple somersault by the Cranes aerialist troupe.
    The troupe has not appeared in North America since 1978, with
U.S.-Soviet cultural exchanges frozen after the 1979 Soviet
intervention in Afghanistan.
